RECLAMATION

Updated: Dec 25, 2021

Reclaim your body & birth experience by shifting your mindset through education, planning/preparation and faithfulness!

Educate yourself on common birth procedures, prenatal tests and the labor laws of your county. As a birthing woman, knowing your rights will empower you exceedingly! You will be able to make mindful decisions during critical times and won't be easily pressured by your prenatal care provider. During your transition into motherhood, informed consent will be an imperative part in reclaiming your autonomy and birth rights.

Create a birth plan that consists of all your birth goals and expectations. This document should be signed by you, the birthing woman, your partner & the prenatal care provider. Everyone on your birth team should be well acquainted with your birth goals and preferences. Consult your prenatal care provider regarding your birth plan to help close any communication gaps regarding your birth experience. Your Midwife or OBGYN will tell you if your birth goals are clinically possible and realistic. If they are not in alignment with your birth values, it is perfectly fine to disconnect and find a new provider.

Be Faithful! To be faithful is to be full of trust and confidence in things unseen. It’s a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and trusting that all things are working in your favor. Accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations without being consumed by them. This technique will give you a sound mind and a sound heart. Having faith will help you stay grounded during painful and stressful situations. Peace and mindfulness are true fruits of the spirit. 2 Timothy 1:7.
